First aid training
Staff who enrol in a first aid course and have their fees paid for by the University are expected to nominate and act as a University First Aider.
Courses provided in-house, and recognised by the University as appropriate:
Provide First Aid (1 day face-to-face with pre-work required)
Certificate valid for 3 years as long as annual CPR updates are completed.
Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (3 hrs)
Must be completed annually to ensure the First Aid certificate remains valid.
First Aid Refresher (1 day)
Prerequisites: a current First Aid qualification obtained within the last 3 years, plus a current CPR update attained within the last 12 months.
Offered to eligible Churchill staff every two years (even numbered years).
In-house training dates for 2021
Registered University First Aiders will be advised when dates for in-house courses have been arranged. If places are still available after First Aiders have registered, a FedNews item will advise other staff that vacancies for in-house training exist.
Suggested external providers
If in-house dates don't suit, staff can enrol with an external provider. Course fees may be covered by the School/Department.
