Federation University has a strong commitment to creating a culture of excellence by promoting and advancing quality learning and teaching through the recognition and reward of individuals and teams who go above and beyond standard practice. Academic awards form an integral part of the academic recognition, reward and promotion pathway.
Federation University, through the Centre for Teaching Innovation and Quality (CTIQ), endorse and provide active support for the following awards:
- The Vice-Chancellor Awards for Learning and Teaching are an institutional learning and teaching award. Conducted annually, across three categories, these awards range from recognising excellence to student service, student learning and teaching excellence at Federation University. These awards are often the first step in the academic career progression pathway. Click on the tab below for more information.
- The Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) are a national teaching award. Conducted annually, across three categories, these awards build upon the achievements recognised locally in the Vice-Chancellor Awards for Learning and Teaching. Click on the tab below for more information.
Suitably eligible staff are supported through the Awards Mentorship Scheme (AMS) with online resources, workshops, mentoring and feedback on drafts for both awards processes. Both awards are viewed favourably within Federation University’s academic promotion process.
