What is Your growth matters?
Your growth matters (YGM) is Federation’s Workday-based performance review process. It’s more than just a review – it’s a way we can work together to:
✅ achieve meaningful individual goals
✅ develop your skills
✅ contribute to our University’s success.
What’s new in 2025?
We’ve made some changes based on feedback from last year’s goal-setting phase:
✅ The goal setting phase now runs for eight weeks
✅ You can carry forward or archive any uncompleted goals from 2024
✅ There will be fewer cascaded goals
✅ A simplified goal-setting process for academic staff.
How does it work?
Your growth matters consists of a simple three-step process, which takes place throughout the year, and includes:
Step 1: Goal settingSetting your objectives and development plan at the start of the year, aligned with your role and Federation's strategy. Step 2: Check inHaving regular check-ins with your manager to review your progress, celebrate your achievements, and identify any support you need. Step 3: ReflectReflect on your performance, learning, and growth, and to recognise your contributions to Federation. |

Goal setting – step 1
When can I start?
The Goal setting phase begins Wednesday, 12 February 2025.
📌 Please note: Staff who are on probation, or are casual or sessional – you are not required to participate in Your growth matters.
How can I prepare?
- Stay informed: Keep an eye out on FedNews and Fed Engage for information on upcoming training sessions. Find a session that suits you and enrol.
- Plan ahead: Start considering your goals and development needs for 2025.
- Schedule a conversation: Book a time with your people leader to review your goals between 12 February and 4 April 2025.
