Together, we can create an environment where neurodivergent individuals feel valued and empowered.
Neurodiversity is a concept that recognises and celebrates the natural variations in human brain function and behaviour. It encompasses a range of neurological differences, including autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia and dyspraxia.
Rather than viewing these differences as deficits or disorders, neurodiversity emphasises the strengths and unique perspectives that neurodivergent individuals bring to the world.
By embracing neurodiversity here at Federation University, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment that values and leverages the diverse talents and abilities of all individuals. This approach fosters understanding, acceptance, and respect for the rich variety of human cognition and experience.
Deepen your understanding, knowledge and involvement when it comes to neurodiversity by completing the Amaze A-plus: Understanding neurodiversity and autism e-learning course.
This program has been created to give you a better understanding of the different ways our brains can receive and process information. It will introduce you to neurodiversity – what it is, and what it can mean to be Autistic. The program also explores the different areas and functions of the brain – executive functions, attention, processing, senses, communication and social interactions – and shows you what can be done in the workplace to make it a productive and inclusive place for everyone.
