Getting started

In the Mentor Advantage Program, you get to choose an industry expert who formerly studied at Federation University or Federation TAFE to be your mentor. You will meet six times over six months, so you'll have lots of opportunities to get their advice and learn their unique industry insights to help improve your employment prospects.

The Mentor Advantage Program is open to all Federation University higher education or TAFE students; on campus, online, international and domestic students completing undergrad or post grad studies as well as those who graduated within the last two years. Unfortunately students studying with or recently graduated from a partner provider institution are ineligible to apply.

Being a mentee

If you choose to become a mentee in our program, you can expect you'll meet your mentor on a, roughly, once-a-month basis for six months. We're looking for students who:

• Are at least 18 years of age.
• Have the time and interest to commit to meeting monthly for six months and to developing a meaningful mentoring relationship.
• Have a desire to develop themselves, acquire new skills, and improve competence.
• Are open to new experiences.
• Will be proactive in following through with commitments, such as attending preparing for and mentoring meetings.

Mentoring Agreement Form
An online form you must negotiate and complete with your mentor at your first meeting or over your first few meetings. The mentoring agreement helps both parties set clear expectations and goals, and define their roles.
