Fee payment scams
Scammers are still actively targeting international students with payment scams. These scams are designed to take your money in a dishonest way and leave your student fees unpaid. If you are offered a loan, discount, payment plan or extension do not accept.
- If anyone contacts you by email or social media to offer a discount for your fees, delete the message
- If anyone calls you by phone to offer a discount for your fees, hang up
- If a friend recommends a scheme that offers you a discount or extension, don't accept
- If someone asks for your Federation University student ID or invoice, don't provide it to them
- If anyone asks you to deposit money into a bank account, ignore it and don't transfer any funds
- You must only use a payment option listed on your Federation University student invoice to pay your fees.
