Nourishment Nook

What is The Nourishment Nook?

The Nourishment Nook provides free food to students in need.

We know that adequate nutrition is vital for wellbeing, mental health and academic success, so we created an on-campus pantry to meet the immediate needs of students experiencing food insecurity.

We understand that maintaining privacy and dignity is important. When you visit The Nourishment Nook, your confidentiality is our top priority. Our friendly and compassionate team will assist you in a non-judgmental environment.

Whether you need a quick snack between classes or essential ingredients for a home-cooked meal, The Nourishment Nook has got you covered.

Where can I find The Nourishment Nook?

We're open every Tuesday 2-3pm and Wednesday 10-11am during semester, near the Student Lounge.
Camp St Campus hours may vary - check signage in the Student Lounge.

What kind of food is available?

We stock non-perishable items and personal hygiene products such as:

  • canned fruits and vegetables
  • cereals
  • rice
  • flour
  • toilet paper.

How much food can I take?

All Nourishment Nook users are limited to one average-sized shopping bag per weekly visit so the service can support as many students as possible. Please bring your own reusable bag.

Can I donate to or volunteer at the Nourishment Nook?

Yes! The Nourishment Nook wouldn’t exist without the generous support of those who donate food and/or volunteer their time. If you can help, please contact us at studentengagement@federation.edu.au.

Spread the word!

If you know someone who would benefit from The Nourishment Nook, tell them about it! Together we can build a stronger and healthier student community.
