Wellbeing support for international students

From your first semester to your graduation, find wellbeing support when you need it.

International student advisors provide wellbeing support throughout your time at Federation. They’ll listen, help you work through challenges and connect you with the right services. They’ll guide you through preparing for work in Australia, and help you understand your rights and responsibilities.

Arrange a time to meet with an international student advisor.

Request a letter

You may need an official letter during your studies to confirm you’re on a semester break for work and travel. Or perhaps a letter when inviting family and friends to visit.

You can request a semester break letter to show that you're not required to attend classes or placement during semester breaks or between teaching periods. This letter can prove your right to work unlimited hours – including more than 48 hours a fortnight – or can be used as a travel letter if you're planning to visit home.

Email isa@federation.edu.au using your student email address and include your student ID number. We'll respond with your letter within two university working days.

If you’d like to invite a family member to visit you in Australia, you can request an invitation to visit letter. This letter can support their visa application by confirming your enrolment and your relationship to the visitor.

If you’d like to invite family or friends from your home country to attend your graduation, you can request an invitation letter to support their visa application. The letter confirms your enrolment and graduation details, and helps show your connection to the visitor.
