Artists in Residence

Welcome to the Artists in Residence program at Federation University!

Our goal is to showcase a diverse range of paid performing artists who can bring their talents to campus events. We're proud that all our Artists in Residence are current Fed Uni students and have created this program to offer all students and staff at Fed the opportunity to experience live performances by some of the most talented musicians, performers and entertainers in regional Victoria.

The campus winners of Fed’s Got Talent will automatically become Artists in Residence and receive a guaranteed paid gig at a uni event.

Current Artists

Akanbi Oluwatobi (stage name A O Jay)

Akanbi is a Masters of Social Work Student based at Mt Helen Campus. He is a music activist and believes in Lovinism. From Africa, Akanbi brings African beats and versions to cover songs and writes his own music. You can find his music @a.o.jay_music on Instagram and Facebook.

Danah Collins

Danah is a current Performing Arts student and local singer and acoustic guitarist. Originally from Tasmania, she moved to Ballarat in 2021 to study and has been amazed by the vibrant arts culture and community she has found here. She has always loved singing, especially to her mum’s Beatles or Crowded House CDs but decided around 11 that she'd like to make some of her own music, so picked up a guitar. Since then, Danah has loved playing in cafés and bars, at fairs and local functions and for a number of not-for-profit events. She still sings Crowded House and Beatles, along with more recently released tracks and a few originals sprinkled in. You might catch Danah busking in Ballarat or can follow her on her Facebook via Danah Maree Music or Instagram @Danah_Maree_Music.
