Latrobe Valley Authority: Career Journey Mapping of Health and Community Services
In 2017 the Latrobe Valley Authority together with the Department of Education and Regional Development Victoria came together to discuss training and workforce issues in the field of Health and Community Services in Gippsland. In 2019 Swinburne University produced ‘Modelling Gippsland’s Future Health and Community Service Workforce’. Recommendations from this report included the promotion of career pathways in the sector.
Incorporating a local focus, the project highlighted the various health and community services pathways, degrees, and institutions across Gippsland. It was designed to appeal to a broad audience, encompassing various age groups, backgrounds, education levels and career goals while also highlighting the prominence and variance of health careers across the region as the fastest growing industry in Gippsland.
The work undertaken by CERC (formally CERG) focused on the development of promotional material, which could be used to highlight the various pathways and entry points for individuals seeking a career in health and community services. A network of industry professionals and organisations collaborated to co-design the material for this project, culminating in the creation of 10 videos, a Career Pathways booklet, a Gippsland Careers Guide and various marketing materials, such as posters and social media content.
