Volunteering off campus
Feel like exploring other options? Got something specific in mind? Consider lending a hand at a local organisation. Volunteering in your field will not only benefit your community, it’ll also kickstart your future career.
Before you begin
- Look at your resume: Are there gaps? Parts that could do with a refresh? Volunteering is a great way to expand your skillset. Not sure what you need? Chat to one of our careers advisors.
- Get checked: You might need to get a Police Check or Working with Children Check before you can volunteer. Applications can take up to 12 weeks to process, so submit early.
- Investigate insurance: Volunteers aren’t covered by Work Cover. Make sure the organisation you volunteer with has public liability insurance and personal accident cover for volunteers.
