Alumni Mentoring

Mentor Advantage Program

This program aims to bring together alumni as mentors and current Federation University students as mentees to offer support as the students progress through their studies and transition into graduate employment.

Volunteer mentors bring unique professional skills and experiences from across a vast range of industries and their contribution is highly valued. At this time mentors must be alumni of Federation University, University of Ballarat, or other predecessor institutions.

The program looks for alumni to volunteer who:

  • Have the time and interest to commit to develop a meaningful mentoring relationship across the six month program.
  • Are willing and able to share their industry knowledge and professional skills.
  • Possess good listening and communication skills.
  • Enjoy helping others.

The mentoring relationship can occur in person or virtually. As such, mentors can be located in any country as long as they have the time and technology capabilities to meet with students virtually.

This is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity.

If you would like to be involved register/update your details with the Alumni Office and make sure you select 'Mentoring other students' under Involvement opportunities.

Please feel free to contact the Federation University Mentor Advantage Program Coordinator with any questions about the program:
