Funding and eligibility for placements grants
There are three types of placement grants available that do differ in eligibility requirements.
Placement grants (General)
- To be eligible students must be enrolled full-time at a Federation campus and be completing a placement in any year of an undergraduate degree.
- Eligible students can receive $200 per week of placement which is funding dependent.
- Students must be completing at least 2 or more weeks of placement at one time.
Rural Health Placement Grants
(Nursing, paramedicine, midwifery, exercise physiology and social work)
- Eligible students can receive $200 per week of placement.
- Clinical placement must be of a minimum of 3 weeks and be full-time (full-time is 4 days per week or more) placement.
- Students must be completing a unit at Federation University in nursing, paramedicine, midwifery, exercise physiology or social work.
- Placement must be a minimum of 80kms from your residence.
- Students must be an Australian citizen or resident
- Students must be provided the opportunity to complete the DRH Clinical Placement Evaluation Survey at the end of their placement.
- The student is not to have received any other assistance to complete their placement (such as a SARRAH scholarship) or from another UDRH for that placement
Rural Teacher Placements (Education)
- Eligible student can receive $200 per week of placement.
- Enrolled in third or final year of Bachelor of Education or Masters of Teaching course.
- Must be travelling at 80kms to a regional or rural area
- Have accommodation and/or travel costs associated with your placement
- Students must be an Australian citizen or resident
- Students must provide evidence i.e. receipts for accommodation/travel costs
- Student must complete a Rural Teacher Placement Survey on completion of their placement
