Students get physical at Federation University Sport Science Experience

Posted: Monday 19 June 2023

Hundreds of Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) students will visit Federation University Australia in June as part of their Physical Education (PE) studies.

Students from 22 schools across Victoria have been given the opportunity to attend a one-day workshop at Federation’s Mt Helen Campus (Ballarat) and receive expert advice from lecturers within the University’s highly regarded Exercise and Sport Science Discipline, ranked in the top 100 globally by the Good Universities Guide.

The students will experience demonstrations on state-of-the-art equipment and presentations on theoretical concepts and current research to enhance their learning and inspire their future studies.

This is the first time that the VCE PE program has been made free for participating students and Federation plans to make program available to even more students in the future.

Quotes attributable to Federation University Discipline Lead, Exercise and Sport Science, Dr Scott Talpey

“It was great to have so many students visit Federation University as part of their VCE. The state-of-the-art facilities and access to world class lecturers provided to the students as part of the program is not available through a school setting, so our hope is that these workshops will inspire the next generation of Sport Science students and encourage some of them to look to Federation in future to progress their studies.”
