Gippsland Campus is set on 60 lush hectares (yes, there’s a lake), and Churchill is right next door (it'll only take you about 20 minutes to walk to the centre of town).

We have everything you need right on campus: a café, a library, a gallery, sporting facilities, manicured gardens, a student lounge and more. The buildings are modern and comfortable, and the views are incredible.

Travelling from Melbourne? You can take the Princes Freeway (maybe stop for a snack in scenic Warragul) or get on a V/Line train. Either way, the trip will take a bit over two hours.

The traditional custodians for this area are the Gunai Kurnai peoples.

How to get to campus

Gippsland Campus is 160km from the Melbourne CBD. The drive takes just over two hours. Take the Princes Freeway out of Melbourne. When you get close to Morwell, take the exit to the University and follow the signs to Churchill. Once you're in town, turn left at Northways Road and you'll find Federation.

Free parking is available across campus. See the campus map (PDF 3.4 MB) for car park locations and mobility routes.

Latrobe Valley Buslines connects Churchill with Morwell and Traralgon. The Morwell-Churchill bus service operates between 6.30 am and 9.30 pm on a one-hour rotation, and the trip takes about 20 minutes. Board the bus at the Morwell Train Station. You'll need a myki to travel on buses.

You can catch a V/Line train from the Melbourne CBD (Southern Cross Station) to Traralgon or Morwell. The trip takes about 2 hours 15 minutes. You'll need a myki to travel on trains.

If you need to come straight to campus from the Melbourne Tullamarine Airport, the quickest way is to drive (which will take about 2.5 hours). Alternatively, you can get a bus into the Melbourne CBD, a V/Line train to Morwell then a bus to Federation.
