Student safety
Your safety is important to us
Emergency services
In Australia, if there's an emergency, you can call the police, ambulance and fire services on 000 - Triple Zero.
If it's not an emergency:
- If you're sick or injured, visit your GP, or if it's serious/out of hours, visit your local hospital accident and emergency department
- If you need to report a crime, contact or visit your local police station.
24-hour on-campus security
Our campuses are 24/7 learning and living spaces, so if there's an emergency situation and there's no-one around to help, call security on 1800 333 732
For non-emergency assistance (including security escorts after dark or to report a non-emergency incident) contact your campus-based security team
International student 24-hour assistance hotline
For any emergency, any time of the day - if you are in an accident, are involved in a crime or feel in immediate danger, please call us on +61 3 5327 6665
Scams
Although the vast majority of people are trustworthy, every few months, someone thinks up a new way to scam students. We want you to know what scams are, how to recognise one and how to avoid it. This information is not designed to frighten you, but to make sure that you are fully prepared if something does happen.
Check out our guide to Outsmarting scammers - we'll keep this updated if we hear of any new ones.
