Food, music, art and sports activities will highlight festivals across Federation University Australia's campuses this week to cap off a fortnight of student orientation events. 

‘FedFest’ activities are being held at the University’s Ballarat, Berwick and Gippsland campuses to welcome back existing students for 2023 and help new students settle into university life. 

Roaming entertainment, free food trucks, art and sports activity zones will all feature, along with the opportunity to connect with student clubs and representatives from local industry. 

Last week, new students got a taste of what their programs have to offer, with course overviews and campus tours, student get-togethers and support from their peer mentors. 

Through the FedReady program, new students are also given the opportunity to complete a short course to help them develop the academic skills they need to get started at university, like assignment writing, referencing and managing study load. 

So far, over 3000 new students will begin their studies across the University, while close to 5500 students are continuing their programs.  

Federation’s most popular programs include nursing, IT, psychology and education.
