OHS course to run at Bairnsdale in April

Posted: Friday 13 March 2020

Federation University will deliver an Occupational Health and Safety initial training course in East Gippsland for health and safety representatives beginning on 1 April.

Held at TAFE Gippsland in Bairnsdale, the WorkSafe-approved course will run over five weekdays, with a refresher course held Wednesday 8 April. The one-day refresher course is suitable for those who have previously completed the initial course.

Taking the course to regional centres aims to break down the barriers of distance for employers and workers, particularly as East Gippsland continues to recover from this summer’s bushfires.

This helps employers meet their obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004.

The course is supported with catering. For more information, phone OHS teacher Phillip Gilmore on 5327 9154 or 5327 9660.

Quotes attributable to OHS teacher Phillip Gilmore:

“By taking courses to as many regional locations as practicable we aim to assist employers to meet their legal obligations.”
