Christmas in July and August charity functions continue at FedUni

Posted: Tuesday 8 August 2017

Federation University Australia is delighted to host another series of Christmas in July and August fundraising events at the Mt Helen and Gippsland campuses over the next fortnight.

“Our mid-year charity fundraising functions are always a highlight of the year for the university community,” Colin Marshall, Director of Campus Life, said.

“The events at Ballarat and Gippsland will raise much-needed funds for our local, national and international charities and support services.”

The lunch event is now in its tenth year and form part of FedUni's larger program of support with five events occurring across the Ballarat and Gippsland campuses.

“As always, we are so very grateful for the generous donations and support provided across the board with students, staff, businesses and members of the public,” Peter Caligari, Appeal Director, said.

The Ballarat lunch was held at the Mt Helen Campus on Tuesday, 8 August.

More than 250 staff members attended the event, where there were auctions, raffles and spot prizes.

Major auction items included a Western Bulldogs Sherrin football plus two jumpers personally signed by the 2017 team.

Three student functions also will be held in Ballarat. A combined student, staff and community dinner also will be held in Gippsland on Wednesday, 9 August.
