Arts Academy students to unveil End of Year ExhibitionPosted: Tuesday 7 November 2017
Three years of study and practice will be on show this month at the annual EYE – End of Year Exhibition at Federation University Australia's Arts Academy.
Showcasing the extraordinary breadth and talent of the graduating visual arts and communication design students, the EYE is a feast of contemporary art that will excite and ignite Ballarat’s Mining Exchange.
Proceedings will commence with an opening address by Federation University Australia Vice-Chancellor, Professor Helen Bartlett, and Bryce Ives, Director of the Arts Academy and Gippsland Centre of Art and Design.
“Passionate, contemporary, challenging and visionary, audiences will navigate a highly diverse and eclectic exhibition,” Mr Ives said.
“The annual EYE Exhibition represents an opportunity for the Ballarat community to step into the creative hothouse of the Arts Academy and explore the future of contemporary art in Australia.”
The Arts Academy strives for excellence in the visual and performing arts and prides itself as a centre for culture and artistic practice. The exhibiting students are emerging artists who continue to broaden their horizons by immersing themselves into the wider world of the Arts and the community in general.
Many of the works are for sale to the public, and the event offers a fantastic and rare opportunity to purchase these original artworks at reasonable prices.
“We particularly encourage emerging and budding artists along to the exhibition, to see our work in action,” Mr Ives said.
“The Arts Academy strives for creative excellence, transformational cultural leadership, and artful engagement with place. We are an exciting institution for local people ready to delve into the world of creative arts.”
This event is a calendar highlight within the Arts Academy, and we invite the local community to support and celebrate our students' success with us.
