Academic Services and Support Directorate
The Academic Services and Support Directorate (ASSD) supports higher education Institutes and work with academic and professional staff to coordinate the delivery of higher education academic courses and the operations of the Institutes.
Services
The directorate consists of four service teams:
- Academic Services – Supports the overall Institute operations. Examples include staff recruitment, administration induction, space allocation, academic workload support, consultancy, travel bookings budget, purchasing and committee support.
- Program Support – Supports the development and delivery of higher education courses and units. Examples include course and unit approvals and amendments, managing appeals and academic misconduct claims, orientation and Open Day activities, and timetabling changes.
- Technical Support – Supports the delivery of the practical components of the higher education academic courses through the provision of technical services. Examples include technical support for classes, laboratory management, ordering stock, equipment maintenance, budget consumables, OH&S induction, HIRACS and regulatory compliance.
- Scheduling – Manages the logistics of higher education and TAFE program delivery. Examples include timetabling, examinations, room allocations and webroom bookings. This team also services TAFE, GPS and partner providers, in addition to higher education.
