Biography
I have a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Melbourne, and have spent a number of years in medical research working on genes involved in blood pressure regulation. I also have a Diploma of Brewing from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling and have spent time working in the research laboratories at Carlton & United Breweries. I am an accredited trainer for the Institute of Brewing and Distilling, and head brewer at the University's microbrewery. I am also on the Australian International beer Awards Technical Advisory Committee, and have judged at many International Beer awards in the USA, New Zealand Australia.
Teaching areas
The majority of my teaching is in the field of brewing, and I also teach in the biochemistry / nutrition stream of the Bachelor of Food & Nutritional Science
