You are invited to the ninth Biodiversity Across the Borders Conference. With the theme Biodiversity Conservation: Moving forward with lessons learned, this one-day conference aims to communicate new ecological research to natural resource managers, the research community and those with an interest in better environmental management. This conference is jointly hosted by Federation University Australia, La Trobe University, Deakin University, Victoria University, Charles Sturt University, University of Melbourne, Parks Victoria and other research partners.
The all-day conference will be held at the Mt Helen Campus of Federation University Australia on Friday 10 June 2022. The keynote address will be delivered by Professor Brendan Wintle (Professor of Conservation Ecology, School of Ecosystem & Forest Science, University of Melbourne). The plenary speakers will be Professor Katie Holmes (School of Humanities & Social Sciences, La Trobe University), Dr Liz Znidersic (School of Agricultural, Environmental & Veterinary Sciences, Charles Sturt University), and Dr Paul Gibson Roy (Ecological Restoration, Kalbar operations). An exciting and eminent group of speakers will be presenting at this conference.
The focus of the 2022 conference will be:
- Biodiversity conservation - How do we make decisions for biodiversity conservation?
- New technologies - Do we need to change the way we do research?
- Environmental history - What can we learn from the past to guide the future?
For natural resource managers, it is an excellent opportunity to learn about emerging applied research outcomes and what they mean for you. For researchers it is a great way to communicate your work in a way that can make a real difference. Biodiversity Across the Borders continues to build and strengthen collaborative networks so as to enhance both research and land management into the future. We look forward to seeing you there.
There will be no registration fee for attending this conference. If you are interested in sponsoring or donating to the conference please email Singarayer Florentine (Florry).
