About Navigator North Offshore Wind
About our project
Origin and RES have formed a partnership to develop the Navigator North Offshore Wind project.
Our offshore wind farm will be situated off the coast of Gippsland in Bass Strait between the locations of Golden Beach and Lakes Entrance and will contribute significantly to the zero net carbon targets set by the Victorian and Federal governments. Our project area covers some 700km2 where the average water depth is only 59 metres providing an ideal project site for our 1.5GW project. The estimated 80 to 110 fixed bottom turbines reach a height of approximately 300 metres to tip height. We’ll provide power for around half a million homes and operate for an estimated 30 years avoiding around 1.28 million tonnes of carbon per annum.
