FedUni to host end of year graduation ceremonies

Federation University Australia’s end of year graduations will be held at the Mt Helen Campus this week.

Ceremonies for more than 600 students will be held at 10.30 am and 3.30 pm on Wednesday, 7 December, and Thursday, 8 December, at Founders Theatre.

Science and technology students will graduate on the Wednesday morning followed by TAFE, Education and Arts, and Health students in the afternoon.

Business students will graduate in both Thursday ceremonies.

“The University is greatly looking forward to the December graduation ceremonies,” Professor Andy Smith, Acting Vice-Chancellor, said.

“This is always a special time of year. We congratulate all of our graduating students and wish them well in their future careers.”

As part of the ceremonies, former Vice-Chancellor Professor David Battersby will receive an Honorary Doctorate and be awarded the title Emeritus Professor on Wednesday morning.

Dr Kennece Coombe will be awarded the title Fellow of the University on Wednesday afternoon.

Mal Vallance, the former Director of the Ballarat Technology Park, also will be awarded the title Fellow of the University on Thursday afternoon.

Twelve higher degree students will be awarded their PhDs at the ceremonies.

Two brothers and a sister from the same family will graduate on Thursday morning and a husband and wife will graduate in the afternoon. Interviews can be arranged.
