Marcia Devlin to sit on Hong Kong international panel
Posted: Monday 21 November 2016
Federation University Australia’s Professor Marcia Devlin will visit Hong Kong this month as a Specialist at the invitation of the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications.
Professor Devlin, a Psychologist and a Professor of Learning Enhancement, will sit on an international panel assessing the quality of a psychology qualification offered by a Hong Kong university.
“The HKCAAVQ has similarities to our own Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency and Australian Skills Quality Authority in that it oversees the quality of tertiary education in Hong Kong,” Professor Devlin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Quality), said.
“I am really impressed by the thoroughness of the process that the HKCAAVQ has in place. While it is a lot of work for the assessors, no stone is left unturned in terms of examining the qualification against the expected accreditation criteria.
“The panel examine extensive written material and the HKCAAVQ facilitates exchange of further information to address any initial queries from the panel,” Professor Devlin said.
“This is then followed up with a meeting of the panel in Hong Kong and a two-day site visit at the university.”
Professor Devlin will be in Hong Kong from 22 November.
