Gender impact assessments (GIAs)

Gender impact assessments (GIAs) are a mandatory requirement for all defined entities (including Federation University) under the Victorian Gender Equality Act 2020.

A gender impact assessment needs to be completed when developing or reviewing any policy, program or service that has a direct impact on the public and at Federation we are committed to applying an intersectional approach and taking into consideration all aspects of identity including Aboriginality, age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, race, religion and sexual orientation.

Please review the Gender Impact Assessment Procedure to determine if a GIA is required, be guided on how to complete it and to access the GIA template.
