Professional Learning Symposium

The Professional Learning Symposium brings together colleagues from across the higher education sector to explore how teaching capability is developed, recognised, and sustained in contemporary university contexts.

Hosted this year by Federation University, the one-day hybrid symposium is designed to be an interactive and collaborative space to focus on provocations, dialogue, and facilitated roundtable discussions.

The theme is: Building capability and recognition in teaching excellence

Contributions and discussions will engage with a range of themes, including:

• developing teaching capability across academic careers
• recognising and rewarding teaching excellence
• professional learning as practice
• scholarly teaching and SoLT
• institutional systems and tensions shaping practice
• building cultures of teaching excellence

Whether you are an academic, academic developer, learning designer, or academic leader, the symposium offers an opportunity to connect, reflect, and contribute to a growing national conversation on professional learning in higher education teaching.
