Room: Building 901-219, SC6
Position: Senior lecturer
Discipline: Biomedical science
Rob joined Federation University in 2019 as senior lecturer and researcher in the field of biomedical and veterinary sciences at the Berwick campus. Rob is based at the Berwick Campus of the University, and he is currently Program Coordinator for the veterinary and wildlife science degree and Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Science Honours program.
Rob leads his own research group. His research interests are focused on immune-related conditions, particularly the pathophysiology of airway disease and translational research studies. He pioneered the development of a translational sheep model of allergic asthma that subsequently provided opportunities for commercial development and industry/contract research. Rob has received funding for his research through a broad range of government, philanthropic and commercial sources, and his work has fostered productive links and collaborations with local and international colleagues in both Academia and Industry. This work has helped advance our basic understanding of immune mechanisms of airway disease, and enabled translational studies around the pulmonary delivery of therapeutics using large animal models.
