Biography

Dr Sasha Ivkovic received his Bachelor of Computing (Honours), Master of IT (by Research) and Ph.D. in IT degrees from Federation University (FedUni) in 2001, 2004, and 2016 respectively. While pursuing his degrees, Dr Ivkovic also worked in different positions, e.g. as a programmer working on Linux platforms at FedUni Technology Park, and later set up a partnership in IT business converting Microsoft services to Linux.  From 2001 to 2003, he worked at the university as a research assistant and then a sessional staff member mostly working on Linux platforms. In 2003, Dr Ivkovic took up a full-time lecturing position at the University. Since then, besides teaching in Australia, he also taught many times in the institute’s offshore partners in China (PRC). Dr Ivkovic’s current research interests include project-based communication and more recently blockchain business solutions. He is also a member of the institute's Research Centre for Informatics and Applied Optimization (CIAO) and was involved in several projects, e.g. focusing on optimising Solar Energy. Dr Ivkovic has been living in Ballarat since he migrated to Australia from Serbia in 1987.
