Biography
David Yost has lived in eight countries and ten cities. This has included working full-time at La Trobe, ANU, the Free University of Berlin, the University of Extremadura and King Saud University, as well as being a long-term visitor and sessional lecturer at several other institutions. He has been the recipient of a Queen Elizabeth II Fellowship, a Humboldt Fellowship and the Lester R Ford Award. He returned to Australia in 2003, to take a position at the then named University of Ballarat, and served as Deputy Head of School from 2007 to 2009. His random walk through mathematics has taken him from C*-algebras and approximation theory through Banach spaces to combinatorial geometry, optimisation and polyhedra.
