Biography
Elisa Zentveld, PhD is Chair, Academic Board and Associate Professor of Tourism and Management at Federation University, Australia. As Chair, Academic Board, Elisa holds an ex-officio role on 11 boards/committees including University Council. Elisa is also a member of the Consumer Advisory Board for Child and Family Services (CAFS) and is a TEQSA panel expert. Elisa joined Federation University (previously called University of Ballarat) in 2008, after being at Southern Cross University for three years. Prior to working in Academe, Elisa held management positions in industry, managing economic development organisations in Queensland. Elisa has co-edited three books and is on the editorial board for 16 journals. In addition, she has received 14 awards to recognise her outstanding contribution to research and education. Her main research interests are Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) travel, family tourism, family violence, and quality of life. Elisa is ranked number 1 in the world for her research in VFR travel based on both volume and citation metrics. Elisa’s category normalised citation impact is 1.51, which is 1.5 times the world average.
