A brief description of the project:

Water entitlement and allocation frameworks are nowadays underpinned by legal instruments which codify the rules for when, where and how a user can take their water. For complex water supply systems typified by multiple and interconnected reservoirs together with multiple users with competing interests for water, the ability of legal instruments to describe and capture every salient aspect of the supply system can still be constrained. This research will help bridge the gap between the realities of water resource operations and effective water accounting practices with a particular focus on hybridising the concepts of capacity and volume sharing methodologies for multiple reservoir systems.
