A brief description of the project:

It is widely known that Space Weather is largely influenced by geomagnetic storms (e.g. solar winds) in the ionosphere. This substantially impacts signal transmissions in the Space, thus having important implications in the areas of spacecraft controls and satellite navigations. It has been suggested that earth’s atmosphere may also be impacting Space Weather through generation of atmospheric gravity waves by extreme events such as tropical cyclones. This project investigates the extent of tropical cyclone modulation on the ionosphere.
