End of Year Exhibition opening in November
Posted: Wednesday 26 October 2016
This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Arts Academy being situated in the centre of Ballarat and the fifteenth incarnation of EYE.
“This exhibition showcases an exciting array of exciting contemporary art and design work from final year degree and honours visual art and design students as well as featuring selected work from our first and second year students,” Claire Blake, EYE co-ordinator, said.
“It is an occasion to celebrate our students’ creative achievements.”
The Arts Academy strives for excellence in the visual and performing arts and prides itself as a centre for culture and artistic practice.
The exhibiting students are emerging artists who continue to broaden their horizons by immersing themselves into the wider world of the Arts and the community in general.
“This is a great opportunity for the public to witness the results of three years of dedicated study by our students at the University’s Arts Academy,” Ms Blake said.
“Many of the works are for sale to the public and it is a fantastic and rare opportunity to purchase student artworks at reasonable prices. The Exhibition also provides encouragement and support to our local talent.
“This event is a calendar highlight within the Arts Academy and we invite the local community to support and celebrate our students' success with us.”
The exhibition will be opened by Dr Jeremy Smith, Deputy Head of Arts, Humanities and Social Science, on Friday, 11 November, from 6 – 8pm.
The exhibition will run until Sunday, 20 November. It will be open daily from 10am – 3pm.
