Posted: Tuesday 25 October 2016

Federation University Australia, together with Latrobe Regional Hospital and supported by Australian College of Critical Nurses, will once again jointly host the widely attended Rural Matters Gippsland Acute Care Symposium on Friday, 25 November.

Hundreds of health care experts including nurses, trauma doctors, GPs, paramedics, and allied health specialists from leading healthcare organisations are expected to attend the popular event which focuses on the management and care of acutely ill patients in regional Victoria.

Anita Raymond, Lecturer and Clinical Care Coordinator at the University's School of Nursing Midwifery and Healthcare, said the event provided an opportunity for continued professional development, specialised clinical instruction and a platform for networking with other professionals from other healthcare settings.

Simone Redpath, Nurse Unit Manager of Critical Care Unit at Latrobe Regional Hospital, said Rural Matters was an opportunity for regional nurses to have access to an affordable and local venue which provides education tailored to a regional setting.

In addition to presentations on the day, trade displays will exhibit a diverse range of products to suit a range of clinical settings. FedUni also will also have information about postgraduate nursing courses on offer including Paramedicine, Midwifery, Honours, PhDs and Masters.

For more information or to register visit www.ruralmatters.com.au. Registrations are open until Sunday 20 November.
