Short biography
Dr Md Waliur Rahman Miah is an experienced academic with over 20 years of teaching, research, and administrative leadership in higher education across Australia and overseas. He holds a PhD in Information Technology from Federation University, Australia, an MSc in Information Science and Engineering from Ritsumeikan University, Japan, and a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Bangladesh.
Dr Miah has served in various academic positions, at several Australian and overseas universities and higher education institutes. He has taught and coordinated a wide range of IT subjects, including game designing, mobile programming, interface design, machine learning, data and information management, computer networking, and cybersecurity. His teaching approach emphasises student engagement, practical learning, and industry-relevant skills. He is passionate about advancing digital learning environments, supporting diverse student communities, and applying innovative technologies to solve real-world problems. He has supervised numerous IT research and industry projects.
