Indigenous Literacy Day

To raise awareness of the indigenous literacy gap and raise funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF), the Library is running a campaign through our social media.

We ask you to post on social media about a book by an indigenous author that you want to read or have read, donate to the ILF and nominate two friends to do the same.  We are using the following format and suggest you could do the same: 

@FedUniLibrary is raising funds this #IndigenousLiteracyDay for the @IndigenousLiteracyFoundation.
Share a book by an indigenous author, donate to https://tinyurl.com/FedUniBookSwap2020 and nominate two friends to do the same.

[Insert name of Indigenous author and book title, description optional]

I nominate [tag two friends]

Join the ILF to celebrate Indigenous Literacy Day today (Wednesday 2 Sept) at 12.30pm. ILF Ambassador Jessica Mauboy will sing an Australian favourite, while ILF ambassadors Anita Heiss, Andy Griffiths, Alison Lester, Shelley Ware, Josh Pyke, Gregg Dreiss, Jared Thomas, Natalie Ahmat, co-Patron June Oscar AO, and special guest Uncle Archie Roach will be joined by kids and community members from Jilkminggan and the Tiwi Islands in the Northern Territory to share some delightful stories.
