Celebrate History Week at the Gippsland and Regional Studies Collection

Posted: Tuesday 15 October 2019

This year, History Week is taking place across Victoria from Sunday 13 October to Sunday 20 October. The Gippsland and Regional Studies Collection (GRSC) is taking part for the first time this year. During our normal opening hours, from 9am to 1pm on Thursday 17 October, we will be showcasing some outstanding treasures from the collection.

See the extremely rare scrapbooks from the Tichborne trial in England. The Struss collection of hiking photos from Gippsland in the 1930s and 1940s. Early SEC magazines full of Yallourn stories. The Cornelius Gleeson glass lantern slides from Heyfield/Glenmaggie. Those treasures and more will be on display for you to see, for only this short time.

Drop in and say hello to Debbie, Myles or Xandria from the Library, the curators of the collection. Volunteers from the local history community will also be in attendance to share their insights.  This is a free event. Everyone welcome.
