Federation University's Bachelor of Arts gets a boost
Posted: Friday 3 November 2023Federation University Australia is bolstering its Bachelor of Arts degree, with a revitalised course on offer from 2024.
The Bachelor of Arts will feature a new History and Heritage Studies major and a strengthened Indigenous Studies major for which the University has recruited a new senior lecturer.
The change follows a comprehensive review of the course to ensure it meets contemporary student and industry needs, with the renewed course to be available to students at Federation’s Mt Helen (Ballarat), Berwick, and Gippsland campuses.
History and Heritage Studies will feature global and Australian history as well as look at the importance of regional and local heritage, tourism and Indigenous history.
The Indigenous Studies major will explore identity, history, reconciliation, diversity, human rights, health and visual arts, among other topics.
These changes are just the first step in enhancing the Bachelor of Arts, with plans to introduce new majors in future and incorporate the course within the Federation University Australia Co-operative Model which will get students work and world ready through direct connection to employers.
From the end of 2025, all courses will be designed, developed and delivered in collaboration with industry, and students will receive paid work placements to give them a valuable head-start in their career.
Enrolments for the Bachelor of Arts course are now open, for more information visit http://study.federation.edu.au.
