Federation University ranked in top 15% of global young universities
Posted: Sunday 19 May 2024Federation University Australia’s reputation as one of the top young universities globally has been reaffirmed following the release of the latest Times Higher Education Young Universities rankings.
In the 2024 edition of the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings, Federation was listed as the 175th ranked Young University out of 1,171 rated universities across the globe, placing it in the top 15 per cent of eligible institutions.
The rankings list the world’s best universities, based on teaching, research, citations, industry partnerships, and connections to the international community, for those 50 years old or younger.
Federation, which has campuses in Ballarat, Berwick, Gippsland and the Wimmera, increased its score in four of the five rating fields in 2024; Industry, International Outlook, Research Environment, and Teaching and maintained its ranking among the top 200 global Young Universities despite an extra 208 institutions from around the world being included in this year’s list.
This improvement in the Young University rankings follows Federation’s strong results in the current Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. Among the international universities that were ranked, Federation was listed in the top 25 per cent for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) related to Good Health and Wellbeing, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Reduced Inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Communities and Partnerships for the Goals.
