Federation University announces closure of Brisbane Campus
Posted: Monday 21 August 2023Statement from Federation University Australia Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Duncan Bentley
“After careful consideration, Federation University Australia has made the difficult decision to close its Brisbane Campus in 2024. The University is focused on assisting our students and staff as we aim to minimise the impact on all affected individuals.
“The Brisbane Campus has been particularly impacted by the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic and other external factors, resulting in ongoing low enrolment numbers.
“In line with our Campus Vision and in support of the ongoing implementation of our Co-operative Education Model, we are increasing activities and supporting our growing number of students in Victoria. Federation has also just come to agreement with Monash University for full control of our Berwick Campus which will offer a new range of courses from 2024.
“The wellbeing of our students and staff is our immediate priority, and the University will fully meet its obligations as both an educator and employer.”
