Federation University and Giant announce sports science partnership

Posted: Wednesday 17 March 2021

Federation University and the Giant cycling team have entered into a three-year partnership focussed upon joining elite cycling athletes with leading sports science researchers at the new sports science facility in Mt Helen.

The partnership will provide Giant with unique access to the newly upgraded sports science facilities at Mt Helen, ensuring special access to their athletes as they develop their training and competition programs over the next three years.

Federation University will host a number of training camps each year as part of the partnership, using these camps as an opportunity to help the team shape unique tailored programs, specific to each athlete, helping them to be their best.

The partnership will focus on the elite Men’s, Women’s and Development Squads of the team, providing the opportunity for long-term research around athlete development programs to be further finessed over the period.

Importantly, the research team will be able to measure the various impacts of a variety of sports science athlete preparation and management techniques through this process.
