Professional practice

Professional Practice is a sequence of three units completed by students as part of the following degrees:

  • Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science
  • Bachelor of Sport Management
  • Bachelor of Sport Management / Bachelor of Business (Double Degree)

The aim of the Professional Practice units is to assist students to build the bridge between theory and practice. It enables them to develop their employability skills and to apply knowledge and skills acquired throughout their studies to an industry setting. Students are required to complete a minimum of 300 hours of practical experience during their three year Professional Practice Program. Placements can be undertaken on an ongoing part-time basis or as a full-time major placement over 2-3 weeks in a variety of employment settings including sporting clubs and organisations, recreational facilities, local and state government and in research centres. Industry organisations are a vital component of your Professional Practice Program and we welcome new organisations to host students.
