Biography
Professor Rob Aughey is a world-renowned Sport Science Professor with a track record of leading international strategic partnerships with multi-disciplinary teams. Rob has developed cutting-edge performance solutions for many top-tier sports organisations.
Rob joined Federation University after a long stint at Victoria University where he was a Professor of Sports Science, leading key engagements with sporting organisations such as the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). Rob held various leadership roles at Victoria University, including Director of Research and Director of Research Training, with stints as Acting Dean of a teaching and learning College and Acting Executive Director of a research Institute.
Rob worked for seven years in a joint role between a University and an AFL club, and has lead research with the AFL, Western Bulldogs, Essendon, and Collingwood AFL clubs. Rob has also researched extensively in other football codes collaborating with Melbourne Victory, Melbourne Storm, Melbourne Rebels, Blues, Hurricanes, Stormers and Sharks Rugby teams. Further, Rob has engaged heavily in research with the Australian Institute of Sport, Australian Sports Commission and Victorian Institute of Sport across National sporting organisations in cycling, swimming, rowing, football, hockey, netball and athletics.
