Professional experience student information
The professional experience program is committed to providing high quality teaching and learning experiences designed to provide our students with opportunities to integrate and apply academic skills and knowledge skills in a range of contexts. The learning outcomes for professional experience courses are underpinned by the Australian Professional Teacher Standards and these courses along with the course learning outcomes for each initial teacher education program aim to develop graduates who are ethical, reflective, and highly regarded professionals committed to meeting the needs of all learners.
The professional experience program contains a sequence of connected and articulated learning experiences and guided reflection, which provide the initial teacher education student with the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and attitudes required of a graduate teacher.
The mix of practice and reflective experiences are designed to build skills and understanding over the duration of the professional experience placements in each program to ensure graduates will be classroom-ready teachers with the capacity to be reflective of their teaching practice.
