Biography

Anthony Pearce is a lecturer in Vocational Education and Training (VET) practice, and Secondary Education in the Institute of Education, Arts and Community at Federation University. Anthony has taught in primary, secondary, vocational, and tertiary education sectors for the past 15 years, developing a specialisation working with ‘at-risk’ and disadvantaged students. Anthony is currently working towards a PhD project.

Areas of expertise

Teaching

Anthony is an experienced English teacher who has taught in a range of learners from children learning to read to second career adults learning to write academically in their pursuit of higher education. He now works at Federation University with pre-service and vocational education teachers.

Applied Learning

Anthony has developed a specialisation of working with students in alternative education in applied learning programs and has completed research on teacher-student relationships in alternative education environments, presenting at RAVE OctoberVET 2021. He is currently developing courses for pre-service teachers on applied learning for Federation University.
