Respect & Equality at TAFE Week

You're part of our diverse student community, and we want you to feel safe and valued at Federation.

April 15-19 is Respect & Equality at TAFE Week. This joint initiative of all Victorian TAFEs means working collaboratively to promote the importance of respect, equality and inclusion on campus and online. Preventing gender-based violence starts with a culture of respect – now and always.

Come along to one of our events. We'd love to see you.

Events include:

  • Online presentation by Tarang Chawla, on their campaign to end violence against women and children. Register to attend online.
  • Coffee scrolls not gender roles, morning tea conversation at SMB and Gillies St.
  • Respectful behaviours training within classes.
  • QHub visit on Tuesday 16 April, activities in the S building foyer at SMB to promote services for LGBTIQA+ young people.
  • Movie screening at SMB and Mt Helen on Wednesday 17 April, The Feminist in Cell Block Y. View event details.
  • Promotions of student training module Respect@Fed: Our Communities.
  • Promotions for staff on tools for responding to student disclosures and making appropriate referrals

How much do you know about respect?

Whatever your background, age, ability, gender or relationship status – whoever you are – you belong at Federation University. We value diversity, and that’s why we’ve designed the Respect@Fed: Our Communities training module. All Fed students are expected to complete this online course.

Access the module via Moodle
