Berwick

The FedUni Library is excited to be extending our services to the Berwick campus library. Library staff have commenced at the campus and are located in the Library with the current Monash staff. Together, they are collaborating to provide services and resources to both FedUni and Monash staff and students located at the Berwick Campus. For FedUni staff and students, this is as follows:

Resources

  • Borrowing from and access to a small FedUni collection in the Library, consisting of textbooks and required reading materials to support the courses being taught
  • Ability to borrow from the Monash collection at Berwick, including the Teaching Materials Collection and anatomical models
  • Ability to request items from the other FedUni campus libraries (Mt Helen, SMB, Gippsland & Horsham) and through BONUS+. Staff also have access to resources obtained through Document Delivery Services
  • Complete access to FedUni’s extensive online (ebook, journal and streaming media) collections
  • Complete access to the Library’s suite of online support materials, including Subject Guides, ‘How-to’ videos and LibAnswers
  • Access to student PCs with the standard FedUni student image
  • Access to FedUni’s printing, copying and scanning services (FMP)
  • Access to all facilities in the Berwick Library, including powered study carrels, group study space, and flexible learning and teaching space

The Client Services Team is responsible for the delivery of Lending and Enquiry Services at all four FedUni libraries, as well as the management of facilities and spaces at those libraries.

This team also is responsible for the provision of programs and resources to support and develop lifelong learning skills through independent research, information skills and knowledge to our students through their Liaison Services. A strong focus for this team is in supporting academic and research staff through the delivery of mobile liaison services to each of our Faculties.

Lending and Enquiry Services

The team is also responsible for the Library Enquiry Service, responding to queries via 1300 552 567, email, online chat and Ask the Library and offers a roving service during semester.

Research, Learning and Liaison Team

The Research, Learning & Liaison Team members support the learning and teaching and research activities of the university. Liaison and Information Librarians proactively provide resources and services to support:

  • academic skills development for undergraduates, particularly in the areas of information and digital literacy
  • the use of library resources in digital learning and teaching practice, in line with the BOLD Standards Framework
  • research skills development for researchers and Higher Degree by Research students, particularly the use of EndNote and the development of sophisticated search and information management skills

The Manager, Planning and Engagement ensures that library services are delivered in a sustainable, equitable and cost-effective manner across our external teaching and learning partnerships working through internal university working groups and external partners.

Promotion of the library and its services is key to this role through the management of the website and social media channels. The position works to ensure that the library's planning cycle is built around users' needs through feedback and engagement with the wider university community.
