Scholarships for future international students

We are committed to attracting curious and driven students from around the world by offering an array of excellence scholarships that will allow awardees to pursue their career dreams and contribute meaningfully to their chosen fields of education while giving back to their home and Australian communities.
Each scholarship has different requirements, terms and conditions and eligibility criteria. You may be eligible for more than one scholarship. For some scholarships, you will be automatically assessed when you apply for your unit.
Federation University Australia is pleased to offer a Pathways Scholarship to international students who commence in a Federation University pathway course in 2025.
Scholarship amount
The Federation Pathways Scholarship is equivalent to 20% of the annual tuition fees of a pathway course such as Foundation or Higher Education Diploma.
Duration
The scholarship is applied for the duration of the pathway course.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be:
- a prospective international student
- enrolling as a commencing student in 2025
- eligible to study in Australia with a valid visa.
Application process
Applicants are automatically assessed for scholarship when applying for a pathway course at Federation University Australia. There is no need for a separate application. Applicants must commence the course in 2025.
Accepting the scholarship
On accepting the offer into the pathway course, acceptance of the scholarship is automatic.

The Federation Excellence Scholarship is offered to eligible high achieving international students applying for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. If you are in the top 25% of offer holders within your region, you will receive a 20% tuition fee scholarship.
To maintain the scholarship an awardee must maintain a GPA of at least 5 while studying.
Offers for this scholarship are made when applying for an on-campus course at Federation University Australia. No additional application is required.

This scholarship supports students who choose to live in University accommodation in Victoria and is valued at $1000 per semester for two semesters (total annual value $2000 AUD).
Prospective international students will automatically be assessed for an offer of an accommodation scholarship to support living in the University’s accommodation (Fedliving) at the time they receive an offer to study at the University. No additional application is required.
The bursary is available to international students commencing in Semester 1, 2025 who have accepted an unconditional offer and paid a deposit by 30 November 2024. Successful applicants receive a $3,000 AUD tuition fee discount in their second year of study.
The Paid Placement Guarantee (‘Guarantee’) is intended to assist international coursework students at Federation University Australia (the ‘University’) who are enrolled in courses which require mandatory placements for course completion. Eligible students are provided financial support for placements undertaken within Australia.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Guarantee, international students must meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled as an international student (not a study abroad, exchange or online student) in one of the eligible coursework courses that requires mandatory placement (described below).
- Enrol in the mandatory placement units as part of an eligible coursework course.
- Possess a valid visa which permits you to study in Australia for the duration of the eligible coursework course.
- Meet the additional terms and conditions as set out below.
Amount
At Federation, paid work placements are integrated into your study through our Co-operative education model (‘Co-op’). With our Paid Placement Guarantee, eligible students receive a minimum payment for the placement hours required in your course –$10,000 for undergraduates and $5,000 for postgraduates.
